Distribution

Small flocks and singles in flocks of Bohemian waxwings observed in January 2013 in orchards and forest-belts near Almaty. One bird caught on January 3, 2013.

Biology

Very rare vagrant. Small flocks were observed in Russian olive groves and in flocks with Bohemian waxwings in apple orchards in foothills of Zailiyski Alatau, close to Almaty
